Dont ever do this.

I was on the train coming back from Segovia and I saw the worst haircut ever. It was this guy with what looked to be a normal haircut, but in the back he had the most disgusting, 2 foot long, dread-locked rat tail. So terrible.

Today i was walking around and my foot started to hurt really, really bad. I hope it feels better tomorrow. It is hard to walk right now. I have to hobble.

Madrid is pretty awesome.

So I am now in my third day in Madrid. Yesterday I went for a day trip to Segovia, which was pretty fun. There was a castle there, and a roman aquaduct, and a cool cathedral. The people here at the hostel are really nice so I have a bunch of people to hang out with. Today I think I am going to try to see a museum or two, walk around the big park here, Retiro and then tomorrow I meet up with a friend from high school who I saw in Athens...crazy huh?

Alright. Can´t wait to get home...much love.

So I totally missed my train to Seville by like 5 minutes and am now instead in Madrid. I am just going to stay in Madrid and relax...which is actually a lot better sounding than running around Seville like a crazy woman! So...here I am to stay until Sunday when I come back home!!! Today is going to be full of doing laundry and relaxing and exploring the surrounding area. Don´t think I am going to try anything too ambitious today. Last night on the train wasn´t bad, actually. Fairly comfortable. Alright. Just updating. Can´t wait to come home!! Much love.

Spending way too much money!

That´s right. I am buying too much stuff. Oh well...I couldn´t pass it up...you know how it is!

I had a lot of fun walking around Barcelona today but now I am very tired and am relaxing before I have to get on the overnight train to Sevilla tonight.

I walked down Las Ramblas and went to the Musee Picasso, which was really cool, and then walked all over the Barri Gotic region and...of course, bought stuff. Oops.

Hey everyone! I am now in Barcelona! Barcelona is really beautiful. This morning after I got in I went up to the Guell Gardens and got to see the amazing Gaudi designs (they are the things that look like they came straight out of a Dr. Seuss book...). I got to just stroll the gardens which was really relaxing.

There´s a startbucks right around the corner from my hostel...I am so terrible.

Spain is actually a lot of fun because I can actually communicate a lot of things to the people here. 4 years of spanish are finally coming in handy! Although my spanish is still muy malo.

For the rest of today I think I am just going to stroll Las Ramblas and enjoy the markets before it gets dark because apparently it is quite sketchy at night. Tomorrow is La Sangrada Familia. I think there was a museum I wanted to go to as well. And then...off to Seville on another night train!

Alright. I love you all. I am in the home stretch of my trip and while I am having the time of my life...I really can´t wait to get back and see everyone. I am such a homebody!

Hey everybody! How are all of you?

Today Mom and I went to the Musee d'Orsay and it was really, really cool. I could have just stared at all the amazing art for hours on end... So coool!

Then we walked around and we went down this street that had just about every kind of food in the world there...it was pretty interesting.

Yesterday we checked out the Louvre...which was just overwhelming...we went through almost all of it but by the end we were totally burnt out.

And then after the Louvre we got some food and then headed over the Eiffel Tower when it was dark...when we first started walking up to it it was sparkling! We didn't go up...we just stared at it for a long time.

Tomorrow I head over to Barcelona and Mom leaves me...so wish me luck!

Post Script.

I got to hear the Pope speak on Good Friday in front of the Colloseum. I have no idea what he said...but I heard him!

I also got accepted to Long Beach State! Woo hoo!

So Rome was absolutely amazing! I dont know how MOm and I were able to see everything we wanted to see...we definitely ran around like crazies...and somehow we didnt get lost at all...thats a good thing!!

Rome was just awesome. Trevi Fountain was more beautiful than I could have imagined...and the Vatican was absolutely beautiful...except for the massive amounts of people...but thats okay. I got 2 pictures of the Sistine Chapel ceiling - one of the last supper and one of the really famous picture where God is almost touching Adam...a bit blurry...but I do have them!! what else? I dont know...we saw everything! And it was all amazing! I cant wait to come back...you throw two coins into Trevi Fountain - one for coming back to Rome, and one for good luck!

Eating such good food! Wow! I cant even get into it...

And now we are in Florence! We stopped by Pisa and saw the tower...saw the cathedral and then we hurried off to Florence. we have been roaming the streets looking at all the cool markets and we have just had delicious, delicious food! Every city we come to I think is more beautiful than the last...Florence is no exception! It is so amazing...you just walk around a corner and...some amazing site is right there in front of you...something out of those famous pictures...so amazing...so awesome!

So...we are in Florence for tomorrow...and then the day after we head on our way to Venice for a day and a half...and then Paris!!! Time is moving really fast now that we are in Italy...which is nice but at the same time all I can think about is how much I want to come back!

And everywhere I go I just keep thinking about how everyone at home would think about this, or think about that...dont worry...I am taking lots of pictures...but its kinda hard to get them on the internet...Im kinda retarded like that. Anyway....I miss you all and I cant wait to get back home and see you all!

more tiredness!

Hey everybody...well, today my Mom and I went to Pompeii and we are exhausted! I think we just about saw everything there was to see...phew. Right now it is almost 6 p.m. and we are looking forward to getting a good, cheap dinner and having an early night in preparation for Rome tomorrow!!

Besides being really tired we are having tons of fun. Yesterday evening we walked all over Naples! I love the Italian food!! I was losing weight in Greece because I was not THAT big of a fan of their food but now that I am in Italy I am hungry all the time because all I see is delicious food!! Oh no...

Anyway...I think that we are going to go get some food and then RELAX....

Sooo...tired.

Today my Mom and I went to Capri, which was absolutely beautiful and had some more REAL italian pizza. On the whole, today was a really good day...but really exhausting. We got up to catch the ferry at 6 a.m. and didnt get in until around 930 p.m. Tomorrow we are going to Pompeii...which should be another busy, busy day.

we are now in bari, italy waiting for the train to take us to naples...we have already had our first taste of REAL pizza...which was ridiculously delicious! we are walking around with a couple other americans and this girl named chinsia (i dont know how to spell it) who i met in the hostel in athens, is taking us around. lots of fun so far!! italy is amazing.

Off to Italy

Hey everyone! My Mom just got in today, so Im very happy!! Tomorrow we start on our long journey to Naples, Italy. It all starts at 10 a.m. tomorrow when we get to go on a 4 hour train ride to Patras, and then a 14 hour overnight ferry ride to Bari, Italy, and then another train ride from Bari to Naples...

Im very tired right now, so Im sorry that this is rather short. The next time that you all will probably hear from me will probably be sometime on Wednesday...so over there you can expect to hear from me sometimes between Tuesday night and Wednesday afternoon.

so i hope im typing in the right place.

lets see...today i went to mykonos and delos. delos was especcially awesome. mykonos would probably have been really awesome if i had my bathing suit and such...but it was still really pretty. the weather out there was actually really bad...really windy. i climbed all the way to the top of this big hill on delos and had a great 360 degree view of all the cyclades islands!

got to call my dad this morning too, which was nice.

tomorrow i am sleeping in!!! yay!!! i dont know what im going to do when i wake up. call chris and then....i dunno! i might try to get into a couple other sights...maybe see the national archeological museum. i dont know yet. my mom comes in the day after tomorrow so that will be really cool.

im continuing to meet a lot of cool people including this guy on mykonos today who felt it necessary to explain to me the philosophy of the greek people and whatnot. he was rather silly.

its 1041 pm here and im exhausted. ive still got to go take a shower and write in my journal...blah blah blah. got some awesome pictures today...

Im sorry if I worried a couple people by not posting. Ive been really busy! I went to Delphi yesterday, and Corinth the day before that.

Ive been sleeping better which makes my mood much, much better.

Today Im going to go up to the Acropolis and tomorrow Im going to Mykonos and Delos. That should be fun.

Delphi and Ancient Corinth were totaly amazing! It took a long time to get there...but they were both worth it!

Alright. Im safe, and Im being good. So stop worrying and Ill do better about posting!

Hey there!

Sorry...I kinda forgot to post yesterday. But yes, I am in Athens right now and Im safe and comfortable...well, I would be more comfortable if I could sleep. My jetlag is really, really bad. But I still seem to be able to get totally lost around Athens without totally falling down dead, so I dont think its that bad.

Yesterday I tried to find the National Archeological Museum but I got really lost. Oh well. Ended up walking around the Acropolis, but I havent gone up yet. Probably will tomorrow or the day after.

Today Im thinking of going to Korinth or Delphi.

The hostel Im at is really nice and there are lots of nice people here. Every night is a big party. Silliness. Although, it is kinda depressing not having anyone to walk around with. I cant wait for my Mom to get here.

Well, I guess thats all for now. Ill try to remember to update tomorrow.
